MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING

OF THE COMMUNITY CENTER JOINT POWERS BOARD

HELD January 7, 2007

A special Joint Powers Board meeting was held January 7, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. at the Worland Community Center Complex Chairman, Michael D. Greear presided over the meeting.  Board members Val Martin, Vasca Gilmore, John McMartin and Executive Director, Steve Hunt were also in attendance.  Tom Schmeltzer was absent.

Chairman Michael Greear called the meeting to order. 

Pat Amend reported on the Bid Opening for the West Wing construction.  Only two bidders attended; one of which did not submit a bid.  L.M. Olson from Rawlins submitted a base bid for $1,399,000.00, with a completion date of one hundred fifty days.  There was also a bid of $123,000.00 for the parking lot.  The base bid was considerably higher than Pat’s estimate.  This was due in large part to the mechanical estimates.  Pat is working with his engineer and will contact the sub-contractor to get more information as to why the mechanical estimate is so much higher.  He will also look at an alternate bid.

A Motion was duly made, seconded and approved that the Board will meet again within two weeks in order to make a decision on the bid.  In the meantime, Pat will negotiate with the bidder to attempt to get the costs down. 

It was also discussed and decided that John and Steve will work on a four year projection.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
